You know it's a new year, when you ought to derelict your 'new year, new me' resolutions — not this year, checklists. Regardless if you believe in resolutions or not, being MIA on social media for weeks was not actually the plan, nonetheless the satire of my tenacity. Still and all, weeks of hibernation engrossed with my personal flamboyance — shopping, binge-watching Netflix series minus the studying — was invigorating: it was a much imperative break indeed. On a more lustrous side note, let the clean slate reassure you to advance for a better tomorrow, 2018 that is.
Looking to a year of plot twists, new beginnings and lessons (grasped the knotty way), 2017 was a wild roller coaster ride. Even with an enchanted online front c/o social media — from landing my first magazine hallmark and avering the youngest influencer of 2017 title — behind the blog: it was a luckluster of creativity and karma's prevailing momentum. Not this year, karma. Despite a crude mid-year, looking back at the year of bombshells and accolades was 2017 — winning an essay writing competition, constantly awarded with honors and documenting my growth to an audience of creatives.
With the hassle and bustle of karma comes a roster of detterents and incentives, admittedly, a rollercoaster of emotions. But if it's anything I learned crying does not make you vulnerable, it makes you augmented — cry today, tomorrow. Which, on a corresponding note, taking a break is compulsory — there is nothing better than a clean head and soul — once in a while. There is nothing better than self-preservation and self-love as new year's appetizer. With that said, cheers to new preambles; cheers to 2018!
