NORMCORE
Topman top / Forever 21 outerwear / H&M bottom / Zara boots
In full grease: catalyst and verbatim terms, as I resort to a throwback and overdue set — a modern day John Travolta get-up pulled off with fast-fashion unisex and unpretentious clothing. A magniloquent extent to the 'live fast, die young' mantra — trespassed a three-story empty abode in the most unforeseen whereabout — just for the 'gram. And unless you're based in Manila (or comprehensively the Philippine archipelago), you have experienced 1. side eyed and impudently stared at for layering or 2. for being too 'revealing' and 3. degraded for wearing feminine pieces c/o toxic masculinity — times are changing, the Gen Z is rewriting the rules.
Normcore — a fashion trend that will never be forgotten — broke the fashion industry's stereotypical statements. Needless to say, 'normcore' is not a hysteria; nonetheless, a testament of uprising and experimentation that came to stay — the swipe per swipe Yeezy-inspired #ootds are corroboration. Subsequent to this edit lies irony to my outfit of choice — from being inspired to iconic 1978's teen romance musical 'Grease' — to the fashion avant-garde, 20th century's 'menocore' and the 21st century's 'normcore'.
Your content keeps me amazed and how you write makes me so interested on fashion. I never really like fashion but because of you and other bloggers like David Guison I started to experiment and style up. I also like how honest and truthfull you are writing. I'm so proud to be a fan of August and you -the author.
